Terms of use

By creating an account on Mashq (mashq.academy), you agree to these terms. Please read them.

  1. 1. The service

    • Mashq offers online lessons in Arabic calligraphy, practice corrected by teachers, live sessions and certificates (ijaza). Programs and their content may change over time.

  2. 2. Your account

    • Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what is done with your account.
    • One account per person.

  3. 3. Respect

    • Be respectful in comments and messages, with teachers and students alike.
    • Don't post content that is offensive, unlawful, or that you don't have the right to share.
    • We may remove content or close an account that breaks these rules.

  4. 4. Your work and ours

    • Your practice remains yours. By uploading it, you allow Mashq to store it and show it to your teachers (and, for comments, to other students of the lesson).
    • Lessons, videos, model sheets and the Mashq name and logo belong to Mashq and its teachers. Don't copy or share them outside the platform.

  5. 5. Certificates

    • An ijaza is granted by a master at their own judgement, once a program is complete. Finishing the lessons doesn't guarantee one.

  6. 6. Availability

    • We do our best to keep Mashq running and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will always be available or free of errors.

  7. 7. Changes

    • We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we'll let you know on the platform.
